VC Poker's Teddy takes on the Apprentice Heads-up
London, UK (02.04.2007)
On Monday April 2, VC Poker invited England international footballer Teddy Sheringham to play a charity game of poker against Andy Jackson, the first contender to be fired by Sir Alan Sugar on the new series of The Apprentice.
With all the proceeds going to the winner’s favorite charity, there was plenty to play for. Aspiring poker professional Andy arrived at the Loose Cannon Bar and VC Players Lounge in All Hallows Lane, London, fired up for a head to head contest with the England legend.
The players were competing for a £500 charity pot and the competitive football ace proved too hot to handle for the former Apprentice, winning the contest convincingly. In a generous sporting gesture Teddy donated his spoils to Andy’s favorite charity, One Step Beyond, which does great work in the Third World as well as supporting numerous good causes in the UK.
